Nothing on this website — including our free tools, guides, articles, and answers to general questions — is legal advice or a substitute for an attorney. We prepare legal documents at your direction. Using this site or contacting us does not create an attorney–client relationship. Free tools
Our free tools (including the name-change checklist, divorce timeline calculator, and notary fee estimator) provide general information and estimates only. Court rules, fees, and timelines change and vary by county; confirm current requirements with the court before filing. Estimator results are estimates, not quotes — your final fee is confirmed when you book. One legal change already scheduled: beginning January 1, 2027, California law (AB 1875) allows a court, for good cause, to reduce or waive the six-month waiting period in certain divorces; the calculator explains this, but whether it applies is a judge’s decision, not a guarantee.
Services
Document preparation, notary, process serving, officiant, and related services are provided under a separate written agreement (including the LDA contract required by California Business & Professions Code § 6410) signed before work begins. Prices published on this site are current as of the date shown on the fee information; court filing fees and third-party costs are charged at cost and are not included unless stated.
Digital guides
Guides are licensed for your personal use. They are general information about California procedures, not legal advice tailored to your case. Do not copy, resell, or redistribute them. Court forms and requirements change; verify you are using the current version of any form before filing.
Intellectual property
The text, guides, tools, and logo on this site belong to Bastian Legal Solutions or its licensors and may not be reproduced without permission, except for your personal use of purchased guides.
Third-party links and platforms
This site links to services we do not control (including Calendly, Beacons, Etsy, Gumroad, PayPal, and Google). Their terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them.

To the fullest extent permitted by California law, Bastian Legal Solutions is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of this website, its free tools, or its guides. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights under the Legal Document Assistant contract for services you hire us to perform.
Governing law
These terms are governed by California law. Disputes will be handled in the courts of Los Angeles County, California, unless a signed service agreement says otherwise.
